You know, for pete's sake, why should an employee have to worry about what religion his employer believes in???!!
Most people don't have to mix religion with business. Heck, it's even illegal to ask a prospective employee what their religion is, or if they have a religion!
If I get a job in a company I don't care where the boss goes to church, good grief! If he pays me on time and the full amount owed, that's all the religion I care about, amen!!!

Hi, C&A - was there a final outcome on the opportunity to receive a big blessing by giving 10K to abuser/losers?
There was a sister I knew for many years, refused to take advice about money management but always needing help, always crying so that the elders would pay her utilities, or whatever. Her own money was for buying fun stuff. She told me that she was part of Jehovah's plan to bless the congregation, by having her there that they could give money to. YES! helping her was a BLESSING to those rich people who didn't deserve what they had.
I can't STAND IT.

I think now you have given in your disassociating letter, I read in another thread. So if you decide to give them the money, maybe it would be fun to send them a check IN CARE OF their wonderful body of elders; like send it to the Presiding Overseer - or better yet, the wife of one of the elders or a sister who is a huge gossip, yeah, that's the ticket!
Because that way they can't hush it all up that their son who is not in the Puke bailed them out of their self-induced misery.

Perhaps instead of sending them money they should send these bills they are behind on, to you, so you could be in control of the money. IF you've decided to give them money they are screaming for as if they were entitled to your property that you have worked for.
Maybe you could negotiate some of the credit card balances, etc.

HEY C and A, i appreciate you writing all this out and grateful for this forum. It really helps me and others, as i've said, to just see the processes, of you getting out and WT flailing around.
Sort of reminds me of Martin Merriman's story. Because he actually did not want to leave but was being shoved out for asking questions - he was just going to let them df him but decided to disassociate because he knew the jw's would think he had done something bad if he was df. He didn't want that stigma to be attached to his family's reputation.
So I vote for the disassociate choice.
Panic, tears, families all upset, the drama, so ridiculous - time, energy, entire lives wasted just focusing on B S !!!!

its title and content are pretty self-explanatory, and as always, its a fine piece of writing, but one section in particular stuck out to me; the part titled reaching out to inactive ones, and it summarizes the apparent desire of the wts to bring wayward sheep back into the fold.. cedars finds it naive and deluded on the wtss part that it would risk having active jws come into more contact with faders, particularly since faders become faders primarily because theyve discovered the truth about the truth.... ...and hes right; if the wts a genuinely and sincerely reaching out to them, it would be naive and deluded.. .
The WT knows how to fool people into thinking that their corporation as an entity, and the elders individually, actually care about people's best interests.
You have to care about your own best interests. Also it is foolish to talk about your heartaches and emotional pain to anyone in the congregation, thinking you just want someone to understand and realize what you're going through.
I did that. Soon I got a phone call from an elder who wanted to stop by and bring another elder with him who was new to our hall.
That friend had called them and said I needed to be checked on because I was saying bad things about the elders. What had I said? "Those guys don't have time to worry about my dumb problems."
The two of them sat in my house, refused to accept any refreshments and said, We're here because we heard you had some problem you wanted to discuss. Okay? What is your PROBLEM?
I said, Yes, I am in the middle of some upsetting things!
After I told them what was going on, the oldest one said, "You're being attacked by SATAN! You need to be studying and praying and going out in service!"
So then the other one said a prayer. As they were leaving they said we were too materialistic and missing meetings for work showed that we weren't satisfied with a simple life.
Oh you can bet I felt comforted and refreshed like crazy after that, wouldn't you!
One big thing I observed was that once all the elders were gone that originally knew us when we were recruited, (some had died, some had moved), the elders who had only known us a short time were not at all concerned with us. They made it plain that they had no interest in getting to know us as people in the congregation or friends in any way. They love to get up there on the platform and regurgitate that the elders were there to talk to. "If you have a problem don't gossip about it. Go straight to the elders! That's what we're here for!" Then when you did, they were exasperated and impatient and just plain angry. They would teach you to go to the elders!

I found out something about my father when I was 39 that I couldn't believe. Now I'm 60, it has ALMOST sunk in. Meaning, it's hard when it's your parent.
